Facebook is expanding its virtual scrapbook feature, Timeline. Now, in addition to letting people see your current and past Facebook activities, you can show them what youre up to elsewhere on the Web.
This is thanks to the new Timeline Apps feature, which allows a new set of apps to grab and post activity from other websites and services into your Facebook Timeline.
For example, if you install the Words With Friends app, all your Words With Friends account activity appears in Facebook.
As of this writing, 80 apps are available, but Facebook has promised to release even more. The apps already available include some big names, including Hulu, Yahoo! News, eBay, Zynga, Rotten Tomatoes and TripAdvisor. A full list is below.
To install Timeline apps, first you need to activate Timeline. Heres how to do that.
Then visit the Timeline Apps page to find apps you want to use. Each app has an install page that shows you what the app does and allows you to adjust its privacy settings.
Not all apps post to Timeline automatically. For some apps, you turn on the post to Timeline feature right from the app install page. Others require you to enable from within your Facebook Account Settings.
Go to Account Settings Apps to manage all your apps. You can set the privacy of each app at any time from there.
In addition to the apps overall privacy setting, you can control privacy post by post as well. Click the X in the upper right corner of any app post to show or hide it in Timeline.
Not sure if there are any apps youd want to use? Heres a list of the first 80 apps available. See if your favorite site is here.

The development finally drags Britains biggest-selling newspaper into the turmoil at News International, after its stablemate the News of the World was shut down in disgrace in July amid a scandal over phone hacking.
Police said they made the arrests after information was provided to police by the US-based News Corporation – in what commentators said was a clear effort by the company to detoxify the brand.
The BBC and The Guardian newspaper named the arrested Sun journalists as former deputy editor Fergus Shanahan, former managing editor Graham Dudman, present crime editor Mike Sullivan and present head of news Chris Pharo.
DAMASCUS, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) — Syrias analysts and observers brushed off the possibility of internationalizing the Syrian crisis after the Arab League (AL) decided to suspend its observer mission in Syria on Saturday, suggesting that the Russian stance would be a guarantee to prevent such internationalization.
The suspension decision wasnt surprising, said Omar Ossi, head of the Kurdish National Intuitive, who regarded the step as futile.
If their aim was to take the Syrian issue to the United Nations Security Council, the Russian veto would be ready and waiting, Ossi told Xinhua.
The AL decided Saturday to suspend its observer mission in Syria, citing the deteriorating situation in the unrest-torn country and the continuous use of violence. Head of ALs monitoring operation room in Cairo Adnan al- Khodair told Xinhua that The AL decided to temporarily suspend its observer mission in Syria to protect observers from increasing violence.
In a statement issued later, the AL chief Nabil al-Arabi asked observers to immediately halt their operation in Syria until the AL ministerial council makes their decision.
The decision was made given the deteriorating situation in Syria and the continuous use of violence. Syrian government escalated the violence, which was in complete contradiction to the new Arab initiative and the observers protocol, the AL statement said.
The AL started a monitoring mission in the country on Dec. 26 of last year to monitor the countrys unrest on ground. The mission has been criticized as ineffective in stopping the violence both from within and without.
Meanwhile, Syrias state-run SANA news agency regarded the suspension as escalatory step against Syria as it reflects some Arab countries resolve to continue supporting armed groups across Syria.
The suspension slammed the door in face of Arab efforts to find a political solution to the current crisis, Ali Mahfoud, member the Third Way movement which advocates a middle-of-the- road opinion between the government and the opposition, told Xinhua.
Mahfoud, however, denied that the decision might be a prelude to internationalize the crisis, suggesting that the decision is a complete break down between Syria and the AL.
Political analyst Hamdi Abdullah said that if they internationalization was to pave the way for foreign intervention, then its chances are slim, for the Russian and the Chinese stances are clear in rejecting any resolution that allows military intervention.
The UN Security Council met behind closed doors Friday to discuss a European-Arab draft resolution on Syria as violence continued to inflict casualties in the Middle East country.
The draft resolution, jointly drawn up by Arab states with Britain, France and Germany, was presented to the council by Morocco, the only Arab country in the 15-member UN body.
Though its content is unknown to the public, the Security Council appears divided over the issue.
Vitaly Churkin, Russias permanent representative to the UN, told media after the two-hour closed meeting that he was deeply disappointed with the draft but stressed Russia was willing to engage in its progress.
Churkin said Russia was pushing for a Syrian-led political process in Syria, not something imposed by outside powers, but did not mention the possibility of vetoing the document.
In its latest proposals on the Syria issue, the AL urged the Syrian president to hand over power to a deputy and asked the Syrian authorities to set up a national unity government within two months.
With the plan flatly rejected by Syria, AL chief Nabil al-Arabi and Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al-Thani said they would go to the UN Saturday to seek support for the initiatives.
Meanwhile, Hasan Abdul-Azim, a prominent opponent and head of the National Coordination Body, told Xinhua that the decision of suspending the observers mission came after the surge of violent acts across the country, pointing that the excessive use of military responses caused the situation to grow more complicated.
Asked about the armament of protesters in face of government forces, Azim said they are defending themselves against the governments crackdown.
Azim, however, said that any violence from any side is rejected and stressed that the anti-government movement should remain peaceful. He denounced the surging violence in the country, warning that if the situation continued like this, it would attract foreign intervention in Syria.
On Friday, Moustafa al-Dabi, head of the AL observer mission in Syria, said in a statement that the wave of violence in Syria had dramatically escalated in recent days, especially in Homs, Idlib and Hama.
The status quo could not create appropriate conditions for achieving the AL ministerial councils decisions about pushing all parties to sit for negotiations, he added.
Syrias Foreign Ministry said Tuesday Damascus accepted the AL s request of extending the Arab observers mission in Syria for another month. But on Sunday, Damascus rejected a new Arab initiative which urged Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to delegate power to his first vice president.
The Syrian government says that the turmoil in Syria is plotted by terrorists and foreign-backed armed gangs. It said more than 2, 000 army and security personnel were killed during the months-long unrest, while the United Nations put the death toll in the country at more than 5,000.
In other news. . . : Sorry, that wasn’t Wendi Deng Murdoch on Twitter

Wendi Deng: Not on Twitter.

• Twitter fans craving an unmediated glimpse into the mind of Wendi Deng Murdoch were hoaxed this past weekend by what turned out to be a parody account — despite the fact that Twitter officials validated it as real. The tweets from “Wendi_Deng” quickly drew more than 9,000 followers and were so banal (“dear twitter friends – its wendi with an i. thx”) that few raised doubts — after all, the real-life Deng’s husband, scandal-scarred publishing mogul Rupert Murdoch, had surprised the world by joining Twitter, f’real, a few days earlier. But on Tuesday, after a few jouranlists quoted the tweets and attributed them to Deng, News International reps denounced the account as a fake, reports AP. Twitter apologized but did not explain how it had mistakenly verified the account, a step it routinely takes for VIPs on the site. The still-anonymous tweeter apologized, sort of, to anyone who felt misled, “but I never said it was entirely genuine.”

Heres what I can tell you. According to our own crack news team and Forbes magazine, Katy Perry made roughly $45 million during the 14-month marriage.
The vast majority of her money is coming from touring, the magazines Dorothy Pomerantz told our news team. Shes also really smart, she makes a ton of money from her endorsements and shes even launched a perfume line [called Purr] and thats all a great source of money too, but most of her money comes from being on tour.
Brand, meanwhile, made much less.
If you look in the last year, Pomerantz says, his biggest film was Arthur, hes got books and other performances.
I would give a generous estimate that he made between $6 million to $8 million the past year, which is a drop in the bucket.
KA-CHING: Five Seriously Spendy Divorces
So what does that all add up to in divorce dollars? The two married in a lavish ceremony in India, but they reportedly had a $6.5 million mansion here in Los Angeles.
Ergo, prominent divorce attorney Laura Zwicker of Greenberg Glusker tells me, I imagine even if they got married in India, they have a California marriage license.
And that means that California laws probably apply to that marriage. And what does that mean? Means that Brand is entitled to half of what Perry made from work done while married: perhaps half of $45 million.
Perry wouldnt be alone if she were stripped of that much of her earnings. Mel Gibson reportedly lost half of his $850 million fortune in his recent divorce from longtime wife Robyn.
All that said, dont be shocked if Perry and Brand keep the details of their divorce a secret. After all, if theres one way to keep divorcees from yapping, its to pay each other offmaybe to the tune of $22.5 million.

SANNA/DAMASCUS, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) — Yemen regained sorts of stability Saturday after President Ali Abdullah Saleh signed a Gulf-brokered deal to transfer power, while the Syrian government was under mounting pressure as the Arab League (AL) proposed economic sanctions.
Saleh arrived in Sanaa Saturday evening after a three-day trip to Saudi Arabia, where he signed the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) initiative to transfer power, the official state news agency Saba reported.
The president also got a medical check-up in Riyadh after sustaining injuries from a bomb attack in June on his Sanaa residence, according to a government official.
Salehs return was announced hours after Vice President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi issued a decree, declaring Feb. 21, 2012 as the date for the early presidential elections in line with the GCC initiative.
Based on the UN-backed Gulf Cooperation Council initiative and its implementation mechanism, which both were signed in Riyadh on Nov. 23, we call for early presidential elections to be held on Feb. 21 next year to elect a new president for the country, a decree issued by Hadi said.
It added that no party has the right to annul or change the date.
Under the GCC deal, Saleh handed over power to his deputy Hadi on Wednesday in return for immunity from prosecution, which was rejected by some angry protesters.
Witnesses and residents in Yemens southern restive province of Taiz said heavy clashes between the government troops and opposition armed tribesmen flared up immediately after the state media announced Salehs return to Sanaa. No casualties have been reported yet.
Government officials said that according to the GCC deal, Saleh will retain the title of honorary president until a new leader is elected.
One official told Xinhua that Saleh will take part in overseeing the implementation of the power-transfer deal.
On Saturday, Hadi also instructed the Homeland Security forces to adhere to the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2014.
A government official said Hadi will issue another presidential decree regarding the appointment of a new prime minister within 48 hours.
Following Salehs return, Saba immediately reported that the United States said after talking with Hadi that it will directly oversee the implementation of the Gulf-brokered deal for the power transfer in Yemen.
The United States will directly and closely oversee the implementation of the UN-backed Gulf Cooperation Council initiative and its executive mechanism that was agreed upon by the entire international community, chief counterterrorism adviser to the US president John Brennan told Hadi.
Brennan conveyed warm congratulations from US President Barack Obama to Hadi on the signing of the GCC deal and the break of the Yemeni political standoff, reaffirming that the United States will work along with its allies in Europe and the world to directly help Yemen to end its political, security and economic crises, as well as in combating terrorism, Saba said.
In Syria, the unrest was still simmering as the AL proposed economic sanctions against the country Saturday at a meeting of finance ministers in Cairo.
The proposals included freezing the Syrian governments funds, halting commercial business with the Syrian government except for strategic commodities that affect peoples livelihood, and suspending flights to Syria, according to a statement issued after the meeting.
The proposed sanctions also included the suspension of financial exchanges with the Syrian government.
The package of sanctions will be submitted to a meeting of foreign ministers Sunday for approval.
The recommended sanctions came after Syria failed to sign an AL observe mission agreement within the deadline set by the League.
The Syrian government had pledged to withdraw its troops from cities and allow monitors in, but violence continued with hundreds of civilians, soldiers and army deserters reportedly killed this month.
On the eve of the AL meeting, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem urged the AL to show its rejection of foreign intervention, urging the organization to announce a clear-cut stand to show this.
Syrias official news agency Sana said the message sent by al-Moallem dealt with some important points that had remained unanswered over the protocol and some decisions issued by the AL ministerial meetings, such as Thursdays decision to give Syria a deadline to sign the protocol.
It was reported that Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said his country and some other Arab neighbors of Syria had reservations about the sanctions.
MANAMA: Bahrain last night set up an independent commission to implement the unrest panels recommendations.
The National Commission, set up by a royal order from His Majesty King Hamad, has been mandated to complete its work before February next year.
It will examine the recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) and submit its own proposals, including necessary amendments to legislation and the application of the BICI recommendations.
The government will provide resources to ease the new panels work.
However, the government will endeavour to implement BICI recommendations without delay and without waiting for the proposals from the National Commission, the royal order said.
The new commissions formation and powers are to be based upon paragraph 1715 of the BICI report, it said.
The commission will guarantee that the outcome of its work on the implementation of the recommendations is in accordance with the best international standards and practices.
Although Al Wefaq was asked to be a part of the commission, well-informed sources said it has not shown any positive interest.
